Brasil Bolsa Balcao S.A. (B3) announced the launch of Bovespa B3 BR+ Equal Weight Index (Ibovespa B3 BR+ Equal Weight), and Bovespa B3 BR+ Cap 5% Index (Ibovespa B3 BR+ Cap 5%) on May 12th, 2025.
The new indices have been developed to represent the performance of a theoretical portfolio in which issuers are weighted in a different way to the Bovespa B3 BR+ Index.
In the Bovespa B3 BR+ Equal Weight Index, issuers are weighted equally, whereas in the Bovespa B3 BR+ Cap 5% Index, the issuers’ participation can be no more than 5% (five per cent), regarding their inclusion or in the periodic reassessments.
The inclusion of these indices will be an additional tool for investors and will enable the creation of new products.
