HONG KONG: HKSCC Publishes Amendments to the General Rules and Operational Procedures

On 3^rd June 2024, the Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company Limited (HKSCC) announced that the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has approved amendments to the Rules and Procedures for the purpose of facilitating the holding of treasury securities in CCASS to support the implementation of the new treasury share regime as set out in the “Consultation Conclusions on Proposed Amendments to Listing Rules Relating to Treasury Shares” published by the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited in April 2024.

The amendments to the Rules and Procedures will come into effect on Tuesday, 11^th June 2024. The marked-up version of the amendments to the Rules and Procedures can be downloaded from the following sections of the HKEX website:
