On 16th January 2023, Indian stock market set to completely move to a shorter trading cycle – called the T+1 settlement system – on January 27th. This allows buyers and sellers to get shares and money in their accounts one working day after they trade on the exchanges.

The shift to T+1 started on February 25th last year when stocks with the lowest market cap moved first. After that batches of the next 500 stocks with the lowest market cap were shifted to T+1 on the last Friday of every month.

This process will come to an end with both largecap and bluechip stocks moving to T+1 on January 27.
