On 16th January 2020, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) announced that stock exchanges can now launch options in goods in the commodity derivatives segment. The exchanges willing to start trading in options contracts with goods as underlying shall take prior approval of SEBI for launching such contracts.
