The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Guernsey Financial Services Authority on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025.
This step comes based on the desire of both parties to establish a formal framework for cooperation, including the exchange of information and the provision of assistance in the field of investigations, which would enable both parties to perform their tasks more effectively. This memorandum allows the voluntary exchange of information between the two parties in accordance with the laws and policies of each of them, including the common interest, the exchange of documents and information related to the common interest, ensuring that the use of the information provided is for the purpose specified by the requesting party, conducting or arranging inspections or tests of financial services businesses, and allowing representatives of the requesting body to participate in conducting investigations conducted by or on behalf of the requested body.
In addition, the memorandum includes a provision for consultation and requests for assistance and sets out frameworks for the confidentiality of information exchange to ensure data protection and privacy.
