On 23rd September 2022, Borsa Italiana published a notice that it has decided to simplify the listing rules, to the benefit of companies that intend to raise capital on the regulated market Euronext Milan.

The amendments to the Regulation, which will enter into force on 3rd October, aim to simplify the obligations for companies wishing to list, reducing the workload and market access times. In particular, the documentation requirements for listed companies, the competences of Borsa Italiana regarding admission and the role and responsibilities of the Sponsor have been simplified.

The simplifications are in line with Euronext’s commitment to facilitate access to its markets for local and international issuers. The migration of Borsa Italiana’s markets to the technologically advanced Optiq platform and euronext’s single order book, scheduled for 2023, will bring further benefits to the Italian capital market, increasing the liquidity and visibility of issuers. The reform will lead to important results for the growth and competitiveness of the entire Italian system.
