On 11th September 2026, the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited announced amendments in the procedures of National Clearing & Settlement System (NCSS).
The approved amendments primarily relate to (i) the inclusion of “Split” as a corporate action under Section 7.2 of Chapter 7, and (ii) enhancements to the pledge release framework under Section 5.3.2.1 of Chapter 5. The amendments introduce an automated request submission and processing mechanism, require validation of collateral sufficiency against margin and MTM obligations prior to release, provide for automated integration with CDC for pledge release processing, retain NCCPL’s discretion to require manual submissions where necessary, and clarify the treatment of release requests where collateral deficiencies exist, including the requirement for submission of a fresh request following rejection.
