On 13th January 2025, Moscow Exchange (MOEX) announced that it has started calculating an indicator of the trading activity of insiders – employees of companies who have access to non-public and sensitive corporate information.
The insider trading activity indicator is an important tool for analyzing a company, reflecting, among other things, the investment mood of the issuer’s employees. For investors, the indicator will become an additional factor when making decisions about buying or selling shares, as well as a signal to pay attention to the issuer and conduct its research.
At the moment, the indicator is calculated based on insider transactions made with Moscow Exchange (MOEX) shares. At the beginning of 2025, it is planned to add data from other issuers from the Moscow Exchange Index.
The insider trading activity indicator is anonymized information about the number of insiders of the issuer who have made transactions to buy or sell its shares, as well as information about the volumes of such transactions. The information is displayed for the last one, three and six months and is updated every two weeks. The indicator is published on the Moscow Exchange website and will be calculated separately for each issuer of shares from the MICEX Index calculation base.
