On 16th July 2025, the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) announced that it has revised the Listing Rules to introduce rules pertaining to the delisting of securities of Listed Entities from the official list of the CSE. Section 13 of the CSE Listing Rules contains rules relating to delisting of securities of Listed Entities from the official list of the CSE and the said revisions have been approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC).

The revised Rules are effective from 14th July 2025 and have been incorporated to the CSE Listing Rules.

The Rules which have been amended are highlighted below for ease of reference.

Sections 7 & 9 Amendment of references made to section 13, pertaining to delisting of securities of Listed Entities stemming from enforcement actions, due to non-compliance with continuous listing requirements and Corporate Governance requirements, respectively
Section 13 New Rules introduced to provide for the delisting of securities of Listed Entities from the official list of the CSE in the following scenarios;

•        Voluntary delisting

•        Delisting due to non-compliance with the CSE Listing Rules

•        Delisting due to Amalgamations
