On 6th October 2025, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), and the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations (FETCO) jointly announced the launch of a “set of measures to enhance the attractiveness of the Thai stock market” and are ready to push forward with four main measures: Quality Demand – Attractive Supply – Trusted Market – Supportive Ecosystem to build investor confidence, enhance capabilities, and increase the attractiveness of the Thai capital market internationally.

Quality Demand consists of (1) creating a long-term investment culture through Individual Investment Accounts to enable investors to convert their savings into long-term investments and diversify their investments across a variety of assets, expanding the base of new investor groups, increasing investment services in the stock market and securities company products, and creating a wealth aggregator for investor portfolio information, and (2) promoting the role of domestic institutional investors to increase their investment share in the Thai capital market.

Attractive Supply consists of (1) attracting potential and quality businesses into the Thai capital market; (2) upgrading the quality of current listed companies through the Jump+ and Value Up Programs; (3) streamlining the process of issuing and offering shares to the general public for the first time (IPO) to be more efficient and make the Thai capital market more attractive and competitive at the regional level; (4) improving the criteria for accessing funding sources for SMEs and the New Economy to be more attractive; and (5) disclosing ESG information in accordance with ISSB standards and aiming for actual implementation to attract investors who are aware of their ESG responsibilities at the international level.

Trusted Markets include (1) strengthening the governance of listed companies and law enforcement, (2) enhancing the oversight of gatekeepers to deter inappropriate practices, and (3) using technology to increase access to financial information for small and medium-sized companies.

The Supportive Ecosystem consists of (1) enhancing the potential of capital market operators to create diverse investment products; (2) using technology to increase investment access for retail investors and transform the capital market into a digital capital market; (3) reviewing trading criteria to align with investor behaviour; and (4) enabling foreign investors to exercise e-proxy rights more conveniently.
