On 22nd April 2024, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has extended the deadline for the public comment period on a proposed rule that makes certain modifications to rules for Swap Execution Facilities (SEFs) and Designated Contract Markets (DCMs) in Part 37 and 38 that would establish governance requirements regarding market regulation functions, as well as related conflicts of interest standards. The deadline is being extended to May 13th, 2024.

On March 19th, 2024, the proposed rule was posted on the CFTC website. A 60-day comment period was set to end on April 22nd, 2024. The Commission provided the extension in response to a request by a commenter.
