On 16th June 2026, Moscow Exchange (MOEX) announced that it prepares to test a new product in the standardized derivatives market (Standardized Derivatives Market) – a credit default swap (CDS). Transactions will be concluded with the central counterparty.
The use of CDS with the Central Counterparty (CCP) will allow market participants to flexibly manage the credit risk of the largest Russian issuers without the need to perform transactions with the underlying asset. For issuers, the introduction of the new instrument will help to increase the transparency of assessing the credit quality and liquidity of bond issues.
The start date of CDS trading will be determined later.
